Attention businesses - personal property tax returns (or exemptions if you have $80,000 or less in personal property like computers, furniture, fixtures, machinery & equipment, restaurant equipment, etc.) are due February 20. Also, by January 31 you’re typically required to issue 1099s to your landlord, attorney, subcontractors, unincorporated service providers, etc., if you’ve paid them more than $600 in a calendar year. Best way to know if they’re unincorporated (or NOT a “C” or “S” Corporation) is have them provide you a completed Form W-9. We hope you’re being taken care of and are compliant with the plethora of information returns required. Click below for more coming due shortly. We’re here to help, and please call sooner than later to help with clarification on these rules, forms and much more.
